Physician hands a patient an educational brochure at the help desk.

The members of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery are dedicated to educating the heart and thoracic surgeons of the future as well as themselves. Our two-year Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency training program prepares residents for the American Board of Thoracic Surgery Examination. Courses are available for medical students as early as the first year. Weekly and monthly conferences and Grand Rounds ensure that our surgeons stay up to date on the latest evidence-based care related to cardiothoracic surgery. Trainees come to our programs from all over the world for hands-on, personalized instruction in one of the most innovative and enriching teaching environments.
